Enjoying NYC

Amy and I are in NYC and having a great time relaxing before we leave for the airport in a few hours. Amy's mom was in town on Thursday night and she took us out for a great time. We started at Mama Mexico for a delicious dinner - especially the fresh guacamole. Then we went to see Avenue Q which was hilarious and very appropriate since it is a show about finding your purpose in life. Finally we ended the night with some yummy dessert at Cafe Lalo on the Upper West Side.

On Friday we met up with some friends we hadn't seen in months and went out for Indian food down on 6th street in the East Village and then over to a bar near NYU. It was a fun night though it is quite strange being back in the NYU area after two years. Then on Saturday we spent the day getting ready for our trip and relaxing in Central Park before we went out for dinner with my uncle to Tony di Napoli's for some family style Italian food.

I really enjoyed the past few days in New York, but now it is time to move on to our next stop. We are all packed up and ready to. Africa here we come!

Welcome

Welcome to Amy and David's travel blog.

It is with great saddness and great excitement that we decided to leave our jobs, to leave the wonderful friends we have made and to leave the city that has been our home for the past two years. Boston has been good to us and we certainly hope to return someday, but for now we don't know where we'll end up next - that will be part of the adventure.

As we started planning this journey, it became evident there was much we didn't know and even more yet to learn. Our hope is that over the coming months, we will begin to discover ourselves and the world around us while enjoying the adventures along the way. We intend to use this journal to share our thoughts, lessons and photography - so that you too can join us on our journey.

Destination #1 - Cape Town, South Africa, but first we must focus on packing up our apartment and preparing for our departure that is quickly approaching.
